Elden Ring’s spirits are one of the game’s coolest mechanics: characters or monsters that we can conjure to assist us and enrich our experience. You’ve probably heard of jellyfish, and they’re one of the greatest to start with, but there’s another one, the Mimetic Tear, that’s insanely powerful, and we’ll show you how to get it today.
The impact is rather interesting: it will create a clone of yourself who will be able to utilize the same gear and weapons that you used at the moment of the summon. It has several flaws and restrictions, but it’s by far the best spirit you’ll come across, especially when leveled up to +10.
How to Get Mimic Tear in Elden Ring
The first thing to realize is that, while having the Mimetic Tear from the start would be ideal, you’ll have to wait until later in the main story to use it.
First and foremost, you must beat Radahn, the Caelid area’s main boss. If you’re not sure where he is, have a peek at our boss map for this region.
After that, you’ll need to look for Nokron. He must return to the Necrolimbo to accomplish this. The cloud forest to the east of the region is very beautiful.
Things will have changed slightly there, and you will discover a massive hole in the earth leading to Nokron, Eternal City. If you keep going, you’ll come upon a boss named Mimetic Tear. Yes, this is what is in store for you.
Once you’ve defeated him, proceed right, down from where you are, straight, and you’ll reach the ancient forest of grace. You’ll need to do some platforming and hop on the building’s ledges to get through this section.
What stunning architecture; it would be a pity if parkour became popular there.
Continue on your journey until you reach the heavenly realm of night. You will already be in the region where the ashes are if you arrive at a building that you can enter through the window. Rather than heading down, proceed straight to the wing above, which you can see on the map below.
You’ll find the spiritual ashes of the Mimic the Tear there, and your quest will be over. He’s a powerful spirit (don’t forget to improve him at the round table with Roderika!) That has the unique feature of not requiring CP expenditure; if you equip everything that uses them, he will be able to use them without restriction.
Instead, you will utilize a percentage of your life points to summon it, rather than your own. You can only call him once per fight, so don’t expect to be able to sit back and watch the shrews while your clone takes care of everything. They have to help each other!
